morning walk with the boys.
We went to Kroger for cat litter, then headed to Benny's for elevensies. I was hungry, and the boys will always eat.
The park of the day was Frisinger Park. There's a new playground set plus a sandbox with a digger and a merry go round. We saw some friends and hung out until it was time to go.
Monday was National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) at Saul's school, so I made a quick bus trip mid day to see him at first grade.
I saw part of a science lesson (how to tell what birds eat by the shape of their beaks), computer class (learn to type your name because you have to key it in to log in to the server), and a wonderful storyteller at an assembly.
It's a lot different than I remember first grade, which was more about penmanship and reading Dick and Jane and Spot (dreadful). The kids sit at groups of tables and not in rows, there's a lot more creative writing, and it generally looks like a lot more fun.

This is a fairy door and it has an address. The address is 422764. It has some grass growing by it and there's some dirt. The door is very special. It leads to the government building. It's fun to go in there because you get to see everything. I will make house doors, building doors, skyscraper doors, and a lot more, and all of them will have an address that is not 422764.
(story by Saul, papa helped)
Trip to St. Louis (wedding) with Saul, our first flight with just the two of us together. We see the sights (Gateway Arch, Grant's Farm), he sees a bunch of cousins and aunts and uncles, lots of fun.
On the way home I ask him what is favorite part was and he says "Metrolink" - the light rail that goes from the airport to downtown.
I can see a trip to Detroit in the future to ride the Peoplemover...
